  Polynyolene

The Result of Smart Research

In 1987, in collaboration with the Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec, (CRIQ), Bi-Op Laboratories developed a new and exclusive material for the manufacture of plates that hold the shell of the orthosis. The result is polynyolene, a high-performance synthetic resin whose flexibility and elasticity have propelled Bi-Op’s orthoses to a level which is unsurpassed to this day. This “smart” material has an exceptional memory: it returns to its original shape after having been subjected to the most stringent tests of torsion, flexion and extension. Strong enough to provide excellent support yet resilient enough to absorb excessive impact, polynyolene has become an integral part of the biomechanical advancement of Bi-Op’s orthoses.
